Vicki Scott & Associates
was established to leverage off Vicki’s extensive work experience
in developing, implementing and managing major projects across
a wide range of fields.

Making it Happen
Vicki has an exceptional track record of achievement in delivering
specialist management services to the public, private and not-for-profit
sectors. The experience and services offered include:
- Clarifying the objective or problem for all relevant
stakeholders;
- Preparing an inventory of available resources, estimating
additional requirements, defining options for proceeding and providing
strategic counsel;
- Negotiating objectives, timeframes, funding and resource
allocation acceptable to all relevant parties, and eliminating
gaps and duplication. This is done with empathy with individual
goals and agendas but being firm and forceful as required, to
achieve outcomes;
- Pulling together disparate groups (and individuals) through
vision sharing and team leadership. Being the ‘glue’
that holds all the parts together, managing egos and relationships;
- Trouble shooting in the planning stages, and during implementation;
- Making it happen – Vicki works independently or
with a dedicated team to implement the project, and has the ability
to seek the cooperation of “influencers” where appropriate
to assist in project development and/or outcomes;
- Reviewing how well the objectives were achieved, identifying
what still needs to be done, and how things might be done better
in future.
This can be in coordinating all aspects of event management, running
seminars, conducting training.

Achievements
In the last five years Vicki has successfully managed four significant
major national projects.
- August 2004 to July
2005
Coordinator, National
Reconciliation Planning Workshop, Canberra,
-
May 2002 to May 2003
Director, Events Policy, Department of the Premier and Cabinet,
-

Meeting (CHOGM), Department of the Premier and Cabinet, Queensland,
- 1999 to June 2000.
Project Manager, Corroboree 2000, Department
of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, Canberra,
All required the ability
and motivation to take and develop an initial concept, and manage
it through to the delivery of a successful result. Each event
was delivered against the backdrop of an extremely complex and
difficult environment.
They also required
significant political acumen and a sound understanding of the
differing cultures of private organisations, not-for-profit organisations,
and federal, state and local governments.

Vicki was also responsible
for:
- identifying and managing all the elements that when effectively
combined ensure a successful project or event;
- coordinating and negotiating police and security services
at the State and Federal levels, including traffic management
at the local level;
- fund raising;
- identifying and facilitating business opportunities;
- developing and managing budgets;
- managing key personnel;
- selecting and managing event organisers;
- negotiating attendance of foreign dignitaries and national
and state leaders;
- developing Cabinet submissions and Cabinet processes;
- managing Commonwealth/State relations and resolving tensions
between state and local governments.
By successfully combining
these roles across four diverse and complex projects Vicki has
amply demonstrated her capacity and skills in providing specialist
management support in a range of disciplines. They also highlighted
her unique strengths in developing and implementing the necessary
operational, strategic and financial planning required in order
to secure real outcomes.
She also established
a proven capacity to negotiate and secure the necessary cooperation
and support from key individuals and organisations, whether they
are from the public, private or not-for-profit sectors.
